As the UK gears up for the new Government, various sectors have meticulously analysed party promises to understand how potential policy changes might impact their industries. However, for the tech sector, this exercise has proven to be more frustrating than illuminating.
At first glance, the major parties’ manifestos seem to paint a rosy picture for the tech industry. They all claim to champion the UK’s position as a global tech leader, promising investment-friendly regulations and support for research and development.

But upon closer inspection, these commitments appear to be little more than vague platitudes, lacking the substance and specificity that the rapidly evolving tech sector desperately needs.

Sifted discusses how our client Breega has ‘launched a $75m seed fund to invest in African startups.’ Breega is looking to shift the current landscape in Africa, which currently receives less than 1% of the world’s VC funding globally.

Away day

Learning on the job is essential, but learning from others is invaluable

Our training programme includes a buddy system, personal development plans, various training and coaching sessions, as well as external courses such as from PRCA.

For example, every Friday we hold Plus Points, where a member of the team presents something new they have learned and want to share with the team. This could be tips and tricks on securing opps in particular publications or TV shows, how to use a new tech product to increase productivity, lessons learned on a client campaign, how to write research releases – and more.

Giving everyone a voice

Whether new to the world of PR and marketing, or with decades of experience, good ideas come from anywhere and anyone. That’s why we hold regular team away days to discuss business ambitions, reflect on PR and marketing challenges, and create new and compelling ideas for clients through ideation workshops.
