Working in b2b PR and marketing for over a decade, I have never seen a fellow PR ‘shmooze’ or ‘horse whisper’ a client into a story they didn’t deserve to be in.

PRs, myself included, leverage relationships with key journalists to secure opportunities for clients.Relationships with journalists are key and frankly anyone in the industry who claims you don’t need to have them should be ignored.

These naysayers don’t know what they’re talking about and likely approach PR the same way AI bots do – mailmerge en masse with the only personalisation and targeting being ‘Hello [NAME]’ and a publication vertical focus.
